Data Protection

How we handle your data.

Last updated: October 2026

Sonicon Wealth is a financial literacy experience with reading, planning, and community tools — including a crowdsourced product Value Map. Sonicon Wealth is the data controller for the information described here. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the control you have over it — across the website, the mobile app, and your Customer Portal.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address. If you create an account, your onboarding profile (career and regions of interest), your reading activity and mood-chat inputs, and the financial details you choose to log in the Finance Tracker — holdings, liabilities, credit cards, goals, and recurring commitments. Value Map contributions: the venue, product, price, rating, optional review text, and photo you submit, plus your device location at the moment of contributing for geofence verification. A reviewer credibility profile derived from your contributions (trust score, contribution tier, and community-vote totals). Gamification progress (XP, streaks, and avatar). Payment status via Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Nearby features: if you use Near me, we store your last known location so we can rank what's around you and send the location alerts you asked for, together with a push token when you enable notifications on the mobile app. A few small values also live in your browser's local storage — see the cookies section below.

How we use it

To match you with relevant essays, derive your financial archetype from your reading and financial activity, personalize your feed, set your Signal price tier, and power daily quests and insights. For Value Map contributions we use your device location only at the moment you submit or verify to confirm proximity to the venue — we do not continuously track you. Your reviews, photos, and trust badges are visible to other users, and community helpful/unhelpful votes on your reviews are shown publicly. We compute reviewer credibility to rank and badge contributions and to moderate spam. We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Your rights

You can view your stored interactions and financial inputs in your Customer Portal, edit or delete them at any time, and delete your whole account and its data yourself from your portal's Account section. You can revoke browser location permission at any time in your device settings; contributions submitted without verification still publish with a lower trust badge. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data through the Contact page.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe under its privacy policy. Sonicon Wealth only stores your subscription status — not your card number or payment details.

Contact

Questions about your data, or want a copy, a correction, or a removal? Reach out through our Contact page and we'll respond within 30 days.

AI features

Some features are powered by AI. The words you type into mood search, the archetype quiz, or a tracker advice request — and any photo you attach to a Value Map contribution — are sent to our AI providers to generate the response or screen the submission. We use them only for that purpose, never for advertising. Generated guidance is for your own reflection; it is not financial advice.

Who we share with

We share data only with the providers that run the service, and only what each one needs. Our hosting and database platform (Base44) stores your account and records. Stripe processes subscription payments and receives your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. Our AI providers handle the features described above. Our email provider delivers newsletters and notifications. Google provides aggregate analytics, search performance reporting, and reCAPTCHA bot protection at sign-in. Map-tile providers receive your IP address when a map loads. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cookies and local storage

We do not run advertising cookies. We do keep a few values in your browser's local storage so the app behaves consistently: your language and theme, an app installation identifier used in subscription and access checks, daily counters that apply the free reading limit, and small flags that remember onboarding and quest progress. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure aggregate usage — you can block cookies in your browser or use Google's opt-out add-on, and reading the journal still works. Clearing your browser storage resets these preferences and counters.

Public contributions

The Value Map is crowdsourced, so what you publish there is public: the venue, product, price, rating, review text, photos, and stock votes, along with the credibility badge derived from your contribution history. Your email address and account details are never shown. Please don't include personal information in a review or a photo. You can ask us to remove a contribution at any time through the Contact page.

Retention and security

We keep your account data while your account is open. Deleting your account removes your profile, financial inputs, saved articles, and avatar. Subscription and payment records may be retained where tax and accounting rules require it, and contributions you have already published may stay visible as part of the shared dataset — ask us and we will take them down. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the Sonicon Wealth team and the automated systems that enforce our access rules, and card details are never stored on our systems.

Children

Sonicon Wealth is made for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever our practices change and move the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
